Unfortunately, even with the best commercial intentions and the most accurately drawn up agreements, disputes are an inevitable part of business life. They can arise between you and your suppliers, your landlord, your bank and even your customers.

Resolving any dispute is time-consuming and disruptive, can often distract the management from other important commercial issues, have a dampening effect on staff morale, and can reflect badly on the company's image and reputation.

We aim to apply quick, practical and cost-effective solutions to all business disputes.

This may mean that we elect to defend your interests through formal court procedures or it may mean that we decide that mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR.) would be more appropriate.

Whatever route we choose, we will keep you interests as our prime concern and will guide us in our advice as to the most suitable dispute action to take.

Our dispute resolution team works closely with other lawyers in the firm to benefit from their particular area of expertise, so that you will not only receive the attention of a litigator, but also a specialist in a chosen field, such as property, agriculture or employment.

We embrace the reforms in the practice of litigation, with its emphasis on negotiation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) as the means to avoid the time, effort and costs involved in court proceedings. Therefore, we do all that we can to actively promote ADR, and celebrate our success in a number of mediations using our own trained mediators.

Our Dispute Resolution group includes accredited and registered mediators to advise on ADR in appropriate cases. Our London office has established our own mediation group with a number of leading legal firms known as the The London Dispute Resolution Service.

As throughout our practice, we remain mindful of costs, and aim to keep to a budget, approved at the outset.

We appear in every level of court, from the House of Lords to County Court, and in every kind of tribunal and have expertise in advising a wide range of clients from individuals to professionals and large companies. Our strength lies in our understanding that each client is different, with varying commercial needs. With this in mind, we use our experience to achieve the best result for each individual client.
